Car
If you are driving, get onto the A1 road heading north. From the A1, take the exit toward the A697 towards Rothbury. Follow the A697 for approximately 15 miles until you reach Rothbury. Once you enter Rothbury, follow the signs for Cragside, which will direct you onto the B6341. The entrance to Cragside is about 1 mile from Rothbury. Be aware that there is a parking fee for visitors.

For those using public transport, take a train to Morpeth station from Newcastle or other locations. From Morpeth, you can catch a bus to Rothbury. The bus service is operated by Arriva North East, and you can check the timetable for the latest schedule. Once in Rothbury, you can either walk to Cragside, which is approximately a 20-minute walk, or take a taxi for a quicker option. Note that the taxi fare can vary, so it’s advisable to check in advance.

If you are already in Rothbury, Cragside is accessible on foot. From the center of Rothbury, head north on the B6341. After about a mile, you will see the entrance to Cragside on your right. This walk will take approximately 20 minutes. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes as the terrain can be uneven.
