Car
From Southend-on-Sea, take the A127 towards London. Merge onto the A13 and continue until you reach the M25. Follow the M25 and take the exit for the A2 towards Canterbury. Once on the A2, follow signs for Canterbury and merge onto the A28. Continue on the A28 until you reach Longport in Canterbury. St Augustine's Abbey will be on your left, and there is parking available nearby. Expect a drive of about 1 hour and 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

Start your journey at Southend Central railway station. Take a train heading to London Fenchurch Street. From Fenchurch Street, transfer to the London Underground (District Line) to Victoria, and then take a Southeastern train towards Canterbury West. Once you arrive at Canterbury West station, it is approximately a 20-minute walk to St Augustine's Abbey. Exit the station and head south on Station Road East, then turn onto Longport. The Abbey will be on your right. The total travel time is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, and train tickets can range from £20 to £30 depending on the time of booking.
