Getting There

• Car

  If you're travelling by car, navigate to Stirling Castle at Castle Wynd, Stirling FK8 1EJ. From the M9 motorway, take the exit for Stirling (A84). Follow the signs for Stirling City Centre, and then follow the signs to Stirling Castle. There is limited parking available nearby, so be prepared to park in designated areas. Note that some parking may incur a fee.

• Bus

  To reach Stirling Castle by bus, check the local bus services that operate in Stirlingshire. The main bus station in Stirling is located on Goosecroft Road. You can take buses that head towards the city centre. Once you arrive at the bus station, it's a short walk to Castle Wynd; just follow the signs to Stirling Castle, which is approximately 15 minutes on foot.

• Train

  If you are taking the train, travel to Stirling Railway Station. From the station, exit onto Station Road, and you can walk to Stirling Castle, which is around a 20-minute walk. Follow the signs towards the city centre, then head up the hill towards the castle. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the station for a quicker journey, which will cost around £6-£8.

• Walking

  If you are already in Stirling, walking is a great option to reach Stirling Castle. From the city centre, head towards St John Street and follow the signs to the castle. The walk is uphill, so wear comfortable shoes. It should take you about 15-20 minutes. Keep an eye out for the castle as you ascend; it’s a prominent landmark.
