Car
If you're driving, head towards Whitby town centre. From the A171, follow the signs for Whitby and enter the main road (New Quay Road). Continue straight until you reach the roundabout at the end of the harbour. Take the first exit onto Battery Parade. The West Lighthouse is located at the end of Battery Parade. There is limited parking available nearby, so be prepared to park in the town centre and walk if necessary.

Public Transportation
If you are arriving by public transportation, take a train to Whitby Station. From the station, you can either take a local bus (the 9 or 9A services) towards the town centre or walk (approximately 20 minutes). If you choose to walk, exit the station, head straight down New Quay Road, and follow the directions as mentioned above towards Battery Parade. Once you reach Battery Parade, the West Lighthouse will be visible at the end.

Walking
For those already in Whitby, if you're near the Abbey or the town centre, head towards the harbour area. Walk down to the harbour front, and follow the path alongside the water. Continue on the promenade until you reach Battery Parade. The West Lighthouse will be at the end of this road, providing a beautiful view of the coastline. This walk should take around 15-20 minutes depending on your starting point.
