If you're traveling by car, start on Route 1 (Ruta 1) towards Montevideo. Once you reach the outskirts of Montevideo, follow signs for Avenida de las Instrucciones. Public Transportation
To reach Punta Carretas Lighthouse by public transportation, take the bus from Central Region to Montevideo. Most buses will take you to the main terminal, Tres Cruces. From there, board bus line 184 (or any bus heading towards Punta Carretas). The bus will take you directly to the Punta Carretas area. Walking
If you're already in the Punta Carretas district, you can easily walk to the lighthouse. From the Punta Carretas Shopping Center, head towards the coastline. Walk along the Rambla de Montevideo, a scenic boardwalk that runs parallel to the ocean. The lighthouse is located at the end of the Rambla. The distance is about 1.5 kilometers, which takes approximately 20-30 minutes on foot.
