Car
From central Book Cliffs, head southeast on the main road towards Moab. Continue for approximately 20 miles until you reach the junction for US-191. Turn left onto US-191 and proceed south for about 10 miles. Look for the signs indicating the entrance to Canyonlands National Park. Pay the entrance fee of $30 per vehicle, which is valid for 7 days. After entering the park, follow the road to the Grand View Point Overlook, which is about 15 miles from the entrance. The overlook parking area will be on your left.
Public Transportation
If you are relying on public transportation, check with local shuttle services in Moab, as they often offer trips to Canyonlands National Park. You can take a shuttle from Moab to the park entrance, and once you arrive, you may need to arrange for a park shuttle or use a rideshare service to get to the Grand View Point Overlook, which is approximately 15 miles from the entrance. Ensure to check the shuttle schedule ahead of time to plan your visit accordingly.
Biking
For the adventurous, biking from Moab to Grand View Point Overlook is a thrilling option. Rent a mountain bike from a local shop in Moab and follow US-191 south. You will then need to navigate the park roads, which can be steep and challenging. Make sure to carry plenty of water and snacks, and be prepared for a strenuous ride of about 25 miles total from Moab to the overlook. Note that park entrance fees still apply.
