Getting There

• Car

  From Moab, Utah, head south on US-191 for approximately 30 miles. Turn left onto UT-313, which leads directly to Canyonlands National Park. Continue on UT-313 for about 20 miles until you reach the Island in the Sky entrance station. After paying the entrance fee ($30 per vehicle, valid for 7 days), continue driving on the main park road. Follow the signs to Big Spring Canyon Overlook. The overlook and trailhead will be on your left after approximately 10 miles.

• Public Transportation

  If you are relying on public transportation, you can take a shuttle service from Moab to Canyonlands National Park. Check local shuttle services for schedules and fares, typically around $50-$70 round trip. Once you arrive at the Island in the Sky visitor center, you can either walk or take a ranger-led program to Big Spring Canyon Overlook. Be sure to confirm the shuttle drop-off and pick-up times to plan your visit accordingly.

• Hiking

  If you are already within Canyonlands and prefer to hike, you can access Big Spring Canyon Overlook via the nearby trails. Starting from the Island in the Sky Visitor Center, take the Grand View Point Trail south until you reach the junction with the Big Spring Canyon Trail. Follow the Big Spring Canyon Trail to the overlook. This hike is approximately 2.5 miles round trip and offers stunning views along the way.
