History of Deer Valley

Long before settlers arrived, the area now known as Deer Valley was inhabited by Native American tribes, particularly the Ute people. In the late 19th century, the area experienced a mining boom. The discovery of silver, lead, and zinc in the nearby mountains led to the founding of Park City in 1869.
