Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Apostolic Palace, exit through the main entrance and head towards St. Peter's Square. Once you reach the square, walk straight towards the colonnades. At the end of the square, take a right onto Via della Conciliazione. Continue walking straight until you reach the Tiber River. Once you reach the river, turn left and follow the pathway alongside the river. Keep walking until you reach the Ponte Sisto bridge. Cross the bridge and continue walking straight until you reach Piazza Trilussa. From there, take Via della Lungaretta, which will lead you to the Trastevere area. Continue walking until you reach Via di Santa Sabina, which will take you up to Aventine Hill. Follow the signs to the Aventine Hill viewpoints.

    From the Apostolic Palace, walk to the nearest bus stop at Via della Conciliazione. Take bus number 23 in the direction of 'Piazza Risorgimento' and get off at the 'Piazza Venezia' stop. From there, transfer to tram line 8 towards 'Casaletto' and get off at the 'Piazza Trilussa' stop. Once you exit the tram, walk through the Trastevere area until you reach Via di Santa Sabina. Ascend Aventine Hill, following signs to the viewpoints.
