Getting There

  • Walking

    From St. Peter's Square, face the Basilica. Exit the square from the main entrance, which is located directly in front of the Basilica. As you leave, keep the Basilica on your right side. Walk straight down the Via della Conciliazione, which will lead you away from the square. Continue walking for approximately 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with the Tiber River. Once you reach the river, turn left and continue along the riverbank for a few minutes until you reach Piazza Mastai.

    From St. Peter's Square, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Via della Conciliazione. Board Bus 40 or 64, which travels towards the Termini Station. After about 5 stops, disembark at the 'Largo di Torre Argentina' stop. From there, walk straight down Via di Torre Argentina, then take a left onto Via dei Chiavari. Continue walking until you reach Piazza Mastai. This journey should take approximately 30 minutes in total.
