Walking
Exit the Gregorian Etruscan Museum through the main entrance. Once outside, head towards the Vatican Museums entrance. You will find a sign pointing towards 'Saint Peter's Basilica' and 'Piazza San Pietro'. Follow the path straight ahead and you will enter the Vatican Gardens. As you continue walking, keep your eyes open for the large dome of Saint Peter's Basilica in the distance. This will guide you towards your destination.

As you approach the Basilica, enjoy the beautiful architecture surrounding you. When you reach the large square, known as Saint Peter's Square (Piazza San Pietro), you will see the impressive colonnades designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The Tomb of Saint Peter is located underneath the Basilica itself. To visit the tomb, you will need to go inside the Basilica. Look for the entrance on the right side of the square, which leads directly to the Basilica.

Once inside Saint Peter's Basilica, walk towards the main altar. To access the tomb, look for signs directing you to the 'Scavi' (excavations) below the Basilica. There is a designated entrance for the Scavi tour that allows you to visit the Tomb of Saint Peter. Please note that this area requires a ticket, and it is advisable to book in advance to ensure entry.
