Walking
From St. Peter's Square, head towards the main entrance of St. Peter's Basilica. Once you are facing the Basilica, turn right and walk down the Via della Conciliazione. Continue straight until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river using the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge. After crossing, turn right onto Lungotevere Castello and continue to follow it as it curves left. You will then reach the intersection with Viale delle Belle Arti. Turn left onto Viale delle Belle Arti and the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art will be on your right at number 131.

From St. Peter's Square, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Via della Conciliazione. Catch bus number 81 or 490 towards 'Termini'. After approximately 10 minutes, get off at the 'Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano' stop. From there, walk straight down Via Merulana until you reach the intersection with Viale delle Belle Arti. Turn left onto Viale delle Belle Arti and the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art will be on your right at number 131.
