Walking
From St. Peter's Square, exit the square through the main entrance where you see the large columns. Head towards the main road, Via della Conciliazione, and follow it straight. You will see Castel Sant'Angelo on your left. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Turn left onto Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and walk straight for about 1 kilometer. You will pass several shops and cafes. Once you reach the intersection with Via del Teatro di Marcello, turn right and continue until you reach Largo di Villa Peretti. The National Roman Museum - Palazzo Massimo will be on your left.

Public Transport - Bus
From St. Peter's Square, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Via della Conciliazione. Take the bus number 87 towards 'Largo di Villa Peretti'. The journey will take about 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Largo di Villa Peretti, get off the bus and the National Roman Museum - Palazzo Massimo will be right in front of you.

Public Transport - Tram
Exit St. Peter's Square and walk to the nearest tram stop at 'Piazza San Pietro'. Take tram number 8 towards 'Largo di Torre Argentina'. After about 20 minutes, get off at 'Argentina' stop. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk. Head towards Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and then turn right onto Via del Teatro di Marcello. Continue walking until you reach Largo di Villa Peretti, where the museum is located.
