Walking
From St. Peter's Square, head towards the main entrance of St. Peter's Basilica. Once you exit, turn left and walk along the colonnades of the square. Continue until you reach the end of the square. You will see a large avenue called Via della Conciliazione. Cross the avenue towards the Tiber River, and you will find yourself on the other side at the foot of the hill. Continue walking straight until you reach the steps that lead up to the Gianicolo Hill. Follow the path uphill, and you will eventually see the Faro di Roma (Lighthouse of Rome) as you approach the top.

From St. Peter's Square, walk to the nearest bus stop located at Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano. Take bus number 870 towards 'Marconi' and get off at the stop called 'Aurelia'. From there, you will need to walk approximately 15 minutes uphill to reach Faro di Roma on Passeggiata del Gianicolo. Follow the signs for Gianicolo Hill, and enjoy the views along the way.
