    Getting There

    Walking

    Exit St. Peter's Basilica through the main entrance. Once outside, head towards the right side of the Basilica and walk towards the entrance of St. Peter's Square. Continue walking straight across St. Peter's Square until you reach the far side, where you will see the colonnades. From the colonnades, you will see Via della Conciliazione. Turn left onto Via della Conciliazione and walk straight. After a short distance, you will reach a large intersection. Cross the street and walk up the hill on the left, following the signs to Gianicolo Hill (Janiculum Hill).

    Walking

    From St. Peter's Basilica, exit and walk towards the Tiber River. Turn right along the riverbank and walk until you reach Ponte Sisto, a pedestrian bridge. Cross the bridge, and once on the other side, head straight up the hill following Via Garibaldi. This will lead you directly to Janiculum Hill, where you can enjoy the scenic views of Rome.

    Public Transport

    Exit St. Peter's Basilica and make your way to the nearest bus stop on Via della Conciliazione. Take bus number 870 towards 'S. Giovanni' and get off at the stop 'Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi', which is located at the top of Janiculum Hill. From the bus stop, walk a short distance to reach the viewing area on Janiculum Hill.
