    Although the Vatican City is a small area, if you prefer to use public transportation, you can walk to the nearest bus stop at 'Piazza San Pietro' (St. Peter's Square). From there, take bus number 64 towards 'Stazione Trastevere'. While this bus does not stop directly at the Vatican Apostolic Archive, it will take you around the Vatican area. After a short ride, disembark at the stop 'Piazza Venezia'. From there, it is a 15-minute walk back to the Vatican Apostolic Archive.
