Walking
From the Vatican Library, exit the Library and head towards the entrance of the Vatican Museums. Once you are outside, continue straight towards the main road (Viale Vaticano). Turn left onto Viale Vaticano and walk until you reach the intersection with Via di Porta Angelica. Turn right onto Via di Porta Angelica, which will lead you straight through the impressive colonnade of St. Peter's Square. As you walk, you will pass several shops and cafes, providing a great chance to enjoy the atmosphere. Keep walking straight ahead, and you will find yourself in Piazza San Pietro, where St. Peter's Basilica is located.
Public Transportation
If you prefer to use public transportation, head to the nearest bus stop outside the Vatican Museums (Bus line 81 or 62). Board the bus and travel towards 'Piazza San Pietro'. The bus ride will take about 5-10 minutes. Once you arrive at the stop, disembark and walk a short distance towards the Basilica, following the signs to Piazza San Pietro.
Taxi
For a more comfortable trip, consider taking a taxi from the Vatican Library to St. Peter's Basilica. You can find a taxi stand nearby or ask the staff at the Library to call one for you. The taxi ride should take about 5 minutes, depending on traffic, and will cost approximately €10-€15. Ensure you tell the driver that you want to go to 'Piazza San Pietro' for the closest drop-off point.
