Walking
Exit the Vatican Museums through the main entrance. Once outside, turn left onto Viale Vaticano and walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Piazza San Pietro (St. Peter's Square). From there, head towards Via della Conciliazione, which will lead you to the Tiber River. Cross the river using the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge. Once across the bridge, continue straight along Lungotevere in Augusta until you reach the intersection with Via di Santa Maria in Trastevere. Turn left and walk straight for about 5 minutes until you arrive at Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere, where the Basilica is located.

Public Transport
From the Vatican Museums, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located on Viale Vaticano. Take bus number 23 or 280 towards 'Piazza Venezia'. Stay on the bus for about 15 minutes and get off at the stop 'Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano'. From there, catch tram number 8 towards 'G. Garibaldi' and get off at the 'Trastevere' stop. Walk straight for about 5 minutes until you reach Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere, where the Basilica is situated.
