Walking
If you are near Hoan Kiem Lake, start walking towards the northwest side of the lake. As you walk along the lake, you will see the iconic red Huc Bridge leading to Ngoc Son Temple. Continue straight past the temple and head towards Hang Gai Street. From there, turn left onto Hang Gai Street and walk until you reach the intersection with Trang Tien Street. Turn right onto Trang Tien Street, and you will find the National Museum of History at 1 Tràng Tiền on your left.

Look for a local bus stop nearby and take bus number 09 or 32, both of which head towards Hoan Kiem District. Get off at the 'Tràng Tiền' stop. After getting off, walk back along Tràng Tiền Street for a few minutes until you see the National Museum of History at 1 Tràng Tiền on your right.

Find a cyclo (a three-wheeled bicycle taxi) in the Old Quarter area. Tell the driver you want to go to Bảo tàng Lịch sử Quốc gia at 1 Tràng Tiền. The ride should take approximately 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. The driver will drop you off right in front of the museum.
