Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the Hoan Kiem Lake area, head west towards Ly Thai To Street. Continue onto Trang Thi Street until you reach the intersection with Dinh Tien Hoang Street. Turn left onto Dinh Tien Hoang and continue until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit onto Le Duan Street. Walk straight for about 800 meters, and then turn right onto Hoang Diệu Street. The Imperial Citadel of Thang Long will be on your left at 19c Hoàng Diệu.

  • Bus

    From the Old Quarter, you can take bus number 18 from the bus stop at Hang Da Market. Get off at the stop near Ba Dinh Square. Walk towards Hoang Diệu Street; the Imperial Citadel is just a short walk from the bus stop at 19c Hoàng Diệu.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle and head towards Hoan Kiem Lake. From there, follow the walking route through Ly Thai To Street and then onto Le Duan Street. Once you reach Hoang Diệu Street, you will find the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long at 19c Hoàng Diệu, which is easily accessible by bike.
