From downtown Charlottesville, head to the Charlottesville Transit Center located at 615 East Water Street. Take the Route 7 bus towards Montpelier. The bus will take you along Route 20 North. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the Montpelier Station stop. From there, it’s a short walk to Montpelier Railroad Station Restored, located at 11350 Constitution Hwy. Head southeast on Constitution Hwy for about 0.3 miles until you reach your destination.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in downtown Charlottesville. Start by heading north on 2nd Street NW, then take a right onto East Market Street. Continue until you reach Route 20 North, where you will follow the bike path towards Montpelier Station. The ride is approximately 13 miles and will take about an hour. Once you arrive at Montpelier Station, look for the entrance to Montpelier Railroad Station Restored.

Walking to Montpelier Railroad Station Restored is quite a long trek, but if you're up for it, you can start from downtown Charlottesville. Head north on 2nd Street NW, then take a right onto East Market Street. Continue straight until you reach Route 20 North. Walk along Route 20 for about 13 miles.
