You will soon see the Kirkland Monument on your left, situated in the Sunken Road area of the Fredericksburg battlefield.

From the Fredericksburg Visitor Center, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the corner of Caroline and William Streets. Board the bus heading south on Route 1. After disembarking, walk north along Sunken Road for about 0.3 miles, and you will arrive at the Kirkland Monument, which will be on your right.
