Car
If you're starting from the Historic Triangle area, get onto US-60 E (Richmond Road) and follow it to I-64 W. Merge onto I-64 W and continue until you reach I-295 N. Take exit 43B to merge onto I-95 N towards Washington. After approximately 26 miles, take exit 161 for VA-123 S towards Occoquan. Continue on VA-123 S for about 6 miles. Turn left onto Dawson Beach Road and follow it until you reach the entrance to Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge at 14050 Dawson Beach Rd, Woodbridge, VA 22191. Parking is free at the refuge.

To reach Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge via public transportation, start by taking a bus from the Historic Triangle area to the Woodbridge area. The Virginia Railway Express (VRE) operates from various locations in the Historic Triangle to the Woodbridge Station. Once you arrive at Woodbridge Station, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to get to the refuge, as there are no direct public transport options to the site. The taxi ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes and may cost around $15-$25 depending on traffic.
