If you are driving from the Washington D.C. area, take I-95 South toward Richmond. After about 20 miles, take exit 163A for Telegraph Rd toward Lorton. Merge onto Telegraph Rd and continue for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn right onto High Point Rd, and the entrance to Elizabeth Hartwell Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge will be on your left. There is no entry fee to the refuge.

To reach the refuge via public transportation, take the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) train from Washington D.C. to the Lorton Station. From Lorton Station, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service (such as Uber or Lyft) as there are no direct public transport options to the refuge. The taxi ride from the station to the refuge is approximately 5 miles and may cost around $15-$25.
