If you are starting from the Newport News city center, take the bus route 102 towards Norfolk. Get off at the 'Fort Story' stop on Atlantic Avenue. From there, walk east along Atlantic Avenue for approximately 0.5 miles (about 10-15 minutes) until you reach the Cape Henry Lighthouse at 583 Atlantic Ave. You will see the lighthouse as you approach the beach area.

If you are near the Newport News Park, you can walk to the Cape Henry Lighthouse. Head east on Jefferson Avenue until you reach the intersection with 1st Street. Turn right on 1st Street and continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Atlantic Avenue. Turn left onto Atlantic Avenue and walk approximately 1.5 miles (about 30-40 minutes) until you arrive at the lighthouse located at 583 Atlantic Ave.

For those who prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Newport News. Head east towards the beach area. Follow the bike paths that connect Jefferson Avenue to Atlantic Avenue. Upon reaching Atlantic Avenue, turn left and bike for about 1 mile until you reach the Cape Henry Lighthouse. Make sure to follow bike lane rules and have a safe ride.
