Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving to Panorama Point Overlook, begin your journey from the Nisqually Entrance of Mount Rainier National Park. Follow the road into the park, and continue on WA-706 E. After approximately 9 miles, you will reach the Longmire area. Continue to follow the signs for Paradise, which is about another 5 miles. Upon reaching the Paradise area, look for the parking lot. Note that parking may require a fee, and the park entrance also charges an entry fee which is typically around $30 per vehicle for a 7-day pass. Once parked, follow the designated trails leading to Panorama Point. The hike from the Paradise parking lot to Panorama Point is about 1.5 miles one way and is moderately strenuous.

    For those relying on public transportation, take a bus to the Ashford area, which is the nearest community to Mount Rainier National Park. From Ashford, you can catch the 'Rainier Shuttle' service (check their seasonal schedule) that operates during the summer months.
