Getting There

• Public Bus

  To reach Oglebay Good Zoo using public transport, start by locating the nearest bus stop in Wheeling. If you are near the downtown area, head to the main bus terminal at 14th St & Market St. From there, take the Ohio Valley Regional Transportation Authority (OVRTA) bus #1 towards Oglebay Park. The bus operates on a regular schedule, so check the latest times on the OVRTA website or at the bus terminal. Inform the bus driver that you want to get off at Oglebay Park. After approximately a 20-minute ride, disembark at the Oglebay Park entrance. From there, it’s a short walk towards the zoo, following the signs that direct you to 'Good Zoo'. The zoo is located at 345 Zoo Cir, about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to bike to Oglebay Good Zoo, you can rent a bicycle from a nearby rental service in Wheeling. Start your journey on 16th St, heading north. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Market St. Turn right on Market St and follow it until you reach the Oglebay Park entrance. Once you enter the park, follow the designated bike paths that lead you towards the zoo. The total distance from downtown Wheeling to the zoo is approximately 3 miles, which should take about 15-30 minutes depending on your biking speed.

• Walking

  For those who want to walk to Oglebay Good Zoo, start from the center of Wheeling. Head north on Market St towards 16th St. Continue on Market St for about 1 mile until you reach Oglebay Park. The walk is pleasant, taking you through some of Wheeling's historic areas. Once you reach Oglebay Park, follow the signs directing you to the zoo, which is located approximately 1 mile inside the park, at 345 Zoo Cir. The total walking distance is around 2 miles and should take about 40-50 minutes.
