Walking
If you are starting from the heart of the Third Ward, head southeast on Water Street. Continue straight for about half a mile until you reach East Michigan Street. Turn left onto East Michigan Street. Walk for another 0.2 miles, and you will find Wisconsin State Historical Marker 131: First Milwaukee Cargo Pier on your left, near Veterans Park. This scenic walk will take you through the vibrant atmosphere of the Third Ward, allowing you to enjoy local shops and art galleries along the way.

Public Transit (Bus)
From any location in the Third Ward, find the nearest bus stop that services the MCTS (Milwaukee County Transit System). You can take bus route 15 (which operates frequently) towards the east. Get off at the Michigan & Lincoln stop. From there, walk east on Michigan Street for about 0.2 miles. The marker will be on your left. The bus fare is $2.00 for a single ride, and you can purchase a ticket at the bus stop or directly from the driver.
