If you are in downtown Wausau, start at the Marathon County Public Library located at 300 N 1st St. Head south on N 1st St towards Grant St. Turn left onto Grant St and continue until you reach the intersection with N 3rd St. Turn right onto N 3rd St and walk until you reach the intersection with Elm St. Turn left onto Elm St and walk approximately 0.5 miles. The Velveteen Plum will be on your right at 1520 Elm St. It's a cozy restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere.

From the Wausau Central Wisconsin Airport, take the Metro Ride bus route #1 towards the Wausau Transit Center. Get off at the Wausau Transit Center. From there, you can catch bus route #3 towards the East Side. Get off at the Elm St. & 15th Ave stop. Walk 2 blocks north on Elm St, and you will find The Velveteen Plum at 1520 Elm St on your left.

If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local rental shop in downtown Wausau. Start at the Wausau Riverwalk on the east side of the river and head north. Follow the Riverwalk until you reach the intersection with Scott St. Turn left onto Scott St and bike until you reach Elm St. Turn right onto Elm St and continue until you reach The Velveteen Plum at 1520 Elm St. It’s about a 2-mile ride, and the path is mostly flat.
