Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, Jackson, Wyoming. Head north on US-89 N for approximately 17 miles until you reach the junction with WY-22. Turn left onto WY-22 and continue for about 9 miles until you reach the Teton Pass ski area. Take the right onto Teton Pass Road (also known as WY-22). Continue for about 4 miles, and then turn left onto the unpaved road labeled 'Lower Slide Lake'. Follow this road for about 3 miles until you reach the lake. Be aware that the last section is unpaved and may require a high clearance vehicle. There are no fees for parking at the lake.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you can take the START Bus (the public transit system in Jackson) from Jackson to Teton Village. From Teton Village, you will need to arrange for a taxi or a rideshare service to take you to Lower Slide Lake, as public transit does not directly reach the lake. Expect to pay for the taxi or rideshare service, which will vary based on distance but typically costs between $30 to $60 one way. Be sure to confirm with the driver that they are willing to take you to Lower Slide Lake, as some may not be familiar with the specific location.

• Hiking

  For those who enjoy hiking, you can access Lower Slide Lake via several trails starting from nearby trailheads. A popular option is to park at the Teton Pass trailhead and hike approximately 5 miles along the scenic trails leading to the lake. This hike is moderately challenging, and you'll need to be prepared with proper hiking gear and water. The hike does not involve any fees, but ensure you have a National Forest pass if required for parking at the trailhead.
