Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the Wind River Range area, head east on US-26 E towards Riverton. Continue on US-26 E for approximately 50 miles until you reach the intersection with I-90 in Buffalo. Take the exit onto I-90 N towards Sheridan. Drive about 30 miles on I-90 N and take exit 25 toward Sheridan. Continue on WY-335 S. After about 5 miles, turn right onto Clarendon Ave. The Trail End State Historic Site will be on your left at 400 Clarendon Ave, Sheridan, WY 82801. Parking is available on-site.

• Public Transportation

  To reach the Trail End State Historic Site using public transportation, first take a bus from the Wind River Range area to Riverton. From Riverton, you can catch a Greyhound bus heading towards Sheridan. The bus will drop you off at a central location in Sheridan. From the bus station, you can take a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to the Trail End State Historic Site at 400 Clarendon Ave, which is approximately 2 miles away. Taxi fares may range from $10 to $15.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, consider biking from the Wind River Range to the Trail End State Historic Site. Start by heading east on US-26 E, which has a shoulder for biking. After about 15 miles, you will reach Riverton where you can take a break. Continue onto I-90 N, which has a bike lane, for approximately 30 miles until you reach Sheridan. Once in Sheridan, navigate to Clarendon Ave, where the site is located. Note that this route is approximately 85 miles and will take several hours.
