Car
If you are driving, start from the nearest major city in Muchinga Province, such as Chinsali. Head south on the T2 road towards the town of Nakonde. After approximately 30 km, look for the sign towards Mumbututa Falls, which will direct you onto a dirt road. Continue on this road for about 10 km, keeping an eye out for any smaller signs that may indicate the falls. The last part of the drive can be bumpy, so drive cautiously. Park at the designated area near the falls, where you may need to pay a small entry fee of around ZMW 10.
Public Transportation
To reach Mumbututa Falls via public transportation, take a minibus from Chinsali to Nakonde. The journey takes about 1 hour and costs approximately ZMW 20. Once you arrive in Nakonde, you can hire a local taxi or a motorbike taxi to take you to Mumbututa Falls. This will cost around ZMW 50-100 depending on your negotiation skills and the distance. Inform the driver of your destination, and they will know the best route to take. Once you arrive, you may need to pay a small entry fee of around ZMW 10.
