It’s beautiful, but brutal. We went in August, which I would not recommend. It is HOT and the climb is narrow and not well ventilated. Dress light, don’t eat heavy before and bring water!

This tour package was worth it so you can bypass the long lines to the Duomo. The tour guide was funny and well-informed. I highly recommend bringing water with you to the tour if it’s summer time. Walking around outside the Duomo is very hot and once you hit the stairs of the Duomo you’ll wish you had water on you. The Duomo is an absolute must-see if you’re in Florence. If you can’t walk up several flights of stairs, this would not be a good choice for you, however. The stairs to the top are definitely a challenge.

Amazing short tour of the square and so much information given by the guide!! Lasted 50 mins and then the guide made sure we were at the right place and time to start our ascent of the Duomo!!
If you struggle to walk/not moderately fit, have a fear of heights or enclosed spaces then this is NOT for you.
At the summit, beautiful 360° view of Florence - cannot be beaten!!
We did the tour at 5pm and this was perfect as the temperature had dropped slightly and the dome casts fantastic shadows on the town around it 🤩
Final tips -, take water!!! Wear comfortable shoes - finally remember if it's 463 steps up then it is the same down so very good exercise 😎
The ticket you purchase also gets you into the cathedral, museum, and much more for the next 48 hours 😍

Horrible rude tour guide. We were trying our best to find the exact location as to where we were supposed to be. My husband and I do not speak Italian so we asked many, 5-10 to read the place to meet and explain to us where to go.
We were literally within 100 ft of exact location. I tried calling our guide, o answer. When we finally arrived to the meeting point 15 min late, which I understand is our fault, he was so rude to us. Started yelling at us that we were stupid Americans who just wanted to shop instead of meeting our group, which was NOT true.
We asked if we could join the group late and he proceeded to tell us no, and get wrongly accusing us of not trying to find the group.
We paid a lot of money for this tour and were really looking forward to seeing the Duomo, so he left us with no choice.
We were not able to re ok with another tour group at this late notice.
He would not let us participate and kept accusing us of ‘not trying’ Americanos. I was very embarrassed and felt very insulted by him.
