Thank you for a wonderful day in Sintra with the best guide Benny. He was timely, engaging, enthusiastic and so knowledgeable. Despite an 8h day in the heat, our 3 kids loved the experience. There was a hiccup with the tickets for both palaces as it was it closed over last few days and Benny advocated on our behalf that a late end of day entry would not be great for us. Thank you both Inside Lisbon and specifically Benny for a wonderful day and getting us inside the Quinta da Regalada. All in all a perfect day discovering the wonderful area of Sintra. A must do from Sintra, especially with Benny ;)

Great experience ! Beautiful scenery , much that was learned, and great fellow travelers met ! Phillip had a long day with us and was always sharing his culture and history , adding so much to the tour of Pena Palace and Cascais. The Regguliero region did not go as planned and missed having Phillip with us ! Definitely, one of my best experiences in Lisbon !

This tour was everything we expected and so much more. The castles were lovely and so interesting. Orlando, our guide, was very knowledgeable and added so much to the experience. We would absolutely recommend this tour.

First of all, let me address Inside Lisbon Tour Company. They contqcted me 2 days before the booked date and let me know that they cannot accommodate my reservation. They offered another tour that day or the original tour the next day. I wasn't intereested in changing tours, so we changed the day. Of course what I had planned for the next day needed to be cancelled - fortunately I chose a free cancellation booking - so I cancelled and rebooked. Driver was 30 minutes late as there was an issue with the originally assigned vehicle. So, bottom line, not impressed with the company. The driver was very good and we enjoyed our time in Pena Palace, although we could have used an extra 30 minutes or so. The time in Sintra town was okay - it was long enough to grab an early lunch but we just grabbed snacks, so it seemed long to us. The visit to Regaleira was good, but agin could have used another hour at least to fully enjoy the experience. The trip to Cascias was, in my opinion, a waste of time. It's a nice town but not much to see or do there in 45 minutes. I would suggest extending time at the Palaces and cutting this out. The Palaces were fantastic but more time there would have made it a much better trip.

What to expect

Park and National Palace of Pena

Take a walk through the mysterious Pena Park (ticket and guided visit included), with an astonishing variety of plants and trees. The park was planted with the help of a German Engineer, a specialist in botany. Feel like royalty as you enter the romantic Pena National Palace (ticket and guided visit included) at the top of the Sintra Mountain with amazing views of the Moorish castle.

Quinta da Regaleira

After lunch, we arrive at Quinta da Regaleira (ticket included), one of the highlights of Sintra. Visiting Regaleira is like travel on an imaginary universe full of symbols and metaphors. There is always a sign of something intense and transcendent. The guide enters in the park with you, gives you informations and directions, and then you have free time to explore this luxurious park, heading to the Initiation Well, discovering hidden secrets and entering mysterious tunnels.

After leaving Sintra, we take the mountain road heading to the Western most point of continental Europe for a picture stop. These 100+ meter high cliffs are amazing

Before returning to Lisbon, we do a small stop in the bay of Cascais, where beach, local food, old town and fisheries combine. Great stop for pictures and maybe time for an icecream.
