Menara Gardens and Pavilion

With a surface of more than 100 hectares, the Menara Gardens are a generously laid-out park with many lanes meandering between countless olive trees where the visitors can recline for a moment in the shade. Looking back, you will recognize the imposing line of sight with a direct view on Koutoubia Mosque in the distance. A wide promenade lined with venders of souvenirs, sweets and beverages leads from the entrance area directly to the central basin and the photogenic pavilion – a palace from the Saadian era. This peaceful place wait to be visited all day. Where kids have fun and you rest from the day. Enjoy reading books and sightseeing.

An exquisitely landscaped garden trails through the centre of the complex, leading to a colossal courtyard with an entirely marble floor. Price : 70 MAD (35 MAD under 12 years)

Lunch : Whether you’re taking a stroll through one of the winding alleyways of the medina, or checking out one of the many evening food stalls in Djemaa El-Fna square, there is certainly no shortage of good food to be found in Marrakech. The colorful sights and aromas of dried spices in the souks and the plethora of fresh fruit and vegetables lining the streetsides make it clear that this city has plenty of culinary surprises waiting to be discovered. Here are the top foods you should definitely try if you’re ever in Marrakech.

Marrakech

Saadiene tombs : These tombs date back to the end of the sixteenth century designed by Ahmad al-Mansur and are located in a closed garden, which visitors can access through a small passageway. In the same garden you’ll see over one-hundred tombs that are beautifully decorated with coloured mosaics. The Saadian Tombs are the resting place of approximately 60 members of the Saadi dynasty. Price : 70 MAD / PAX (35 MAD under 12 years)

Jemaa el-Fnaa

The Jemaa el-Fna Square is one of the main cultural spaces in Marrakesh and has become one of the symbols of the city since its foundation in the eleventh century. It represents a unique concentration of popular Moroccan cultural traditions performed through musical, religious and artistic expressions. The Jemaa el-Fna Square is a major place of cultural exchange and has enjoyed protection as part of Morocco’s artistic heritage since 1922. However, urbanization, in particular real estate speculation and the development of the road infrastructure, are seen as serious threats to the cultural space itself. While Jemaa el-Fna Square enjoys great popularity, the cultural practices may suffer acculturation, also caused by widespread tourism.
