Step into your comfortable shoes and meet your guide in the charming Old Town to discover the fascinating history and stunning architecture of the old german city. We will begin our adventure in Dresden's beautiful Old Town and the first stop will be the Catholic Court Church that stands as one of Dresden's foremost landmarks. When this cathedral was built, in the 18 th century, the general population of Dresden was protestant but its rulers were catholic. In the crypt the heart of King Augustus the Strong is buried along with the last King of Saxony and the remains of 49 other members of the Wettin family, as well as the remains of people who married into the family, such as Princess Maria Carolina of Savoy, wife of Anthony of Saxony.

Close by we will be able to get a closer look at the beautiful Semper Opera House, regarded as one of the most beautiful European opera houses. The building is considered to be a prime example of "Dresden Baroque" architecture and has a long history of premieres, including major works by Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss.

Over more than seven centuries it was the residence of the Electors and Kings of Saxony from the House of Wettin. With the help of your experienced guide, learn about one of the oldest Royal House of Europe, House of Wettin, a dynasty of German counts, dukes, prince-electors and kings that once ruled territories of present-day German states of Saxony and Thuringia for 953 years.

The best is yet to come! We shall finish our tour with a view of as the largest porcelain artwork in the world: The Procession of Princes. The mural displays the ancestral portraits of the 35 margraves, electors, dukes and kings of the House of Wettin between 1127 and 1904 and it is located on the outer wall of the Stables Courtyard of Dresden Castle.
