Today was a day of quiet exploration and reflection in the heart of Serra da Estrela. It's amazing how much you can discover when you slow down and simply observe. From the peaceful Fonte de Santo António da Argenteira to the calming waters of Lagoa Serrano, each moment offered a unique perspective on this beautiful region.

My day began with a hearty breakfast at Restaurante Alta Clube in Cortes do Meio. I opted for a traditional Portuguese breakfast of strong coffee and a *pastel de nata*. While the reviews I had read were mixed, I found the staff courteous, and the cozy atmosphere was perfect for starting the day. Fuelled and ready, I set off towards Manteigas, eager to discover the natural beauty that awaited me. It was a beautiful morning, the sun was shining, and the air was crisp, carrying the scent of pine and damp earth. The drive itself was a treat, with winding roads offering panoramic views of the valleys below. I even made a mental note to bring Olivia back here; she would absolutely love the scenery and the peaceful vibe.

Even though Olivia isn't with me on this trip, I feel her presence in my thoughts and memories, and I know she would love to experience this beauty with me. These mountains have a way of making you feel both small and connected, a humbling experience that reminds you of the importance of preserving these natural treasures.
