    Kolomoki Mounds State Park is located approximately 6 miles north of Blakely, Georgia. From the U.S. Hwy 27 bypass, take First or Second Kolomoki Road and follow the brown park signs to 205 Indian Mounds Rd. The roads in and around the park are well-maintained. Parking is available near the park office, museum, and boat launch. A daily ParkPass is required for all vehicles and costs $5.00.

Kolomoki Mounds State Park, located near Blakely, Georgia, protects one of the largest and earliest Woodland period earthwork mound complexes in the Southeastern United States. This historically significant park, dating back to 350-900 CE, offers a glimpse into the lives of the Kolomoki people, who thrived in this area centuries ago. The park's centerpiece is the impressive collection of eight earthen mounds. Mound A, the largest, stands 57 feet high and was once the base for a temple. Visitors can climb to the top of Mound A via a staircase and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Other mounds include burial mounds and ceremonial mounds, each holding clues to the Kolomoki culture's beliefs and practices. While the museum is undergoing operational changes related to NAGPRA, ranger-led programs offer insights into the daily life, tools, and pottery of the Kolomoki people. Visitors can also explore a replica wattle and daub hut and an outdoor amphitheater. The park also offers a variety of outdoor activities. Two lakes, Kolomoki and Yohola, provide opportunities for fishing and boating. Three scenic trails wind through the park's diverse natural communities, offering views of the lakes and forests. Visitors can also enjoy a playground, miniature golf, and a swimming beach.
