Discover more about The Gift Horse Restaurant and Antiques

Step into another world at The Gift Horse Restaurant and Antiques, a Foley landmark since 1982. Housed in a building constructed in 1912 by Foley's founding fathers, the space originally hosted concerts, dances, and cultural events. Before becoming the Gift Horse, the building served various purposes, including a hardware store and even a skating rink. Jackie McLeod, a graduate of Auburn University, renovated the building in 1982, transforming it into the restaurant and antique mall it is today. The restaurant is known for its traditional Southern buffet, featuring dishes like fried and baked chicken, praline sweet potatoes, and seafood gumbo. A highlight is the 28-foot-long buffet table and dessert bar. The Gift Horse also serves as an event venue, hosting weddings, special events, and club meetings. Adjacent to the restaurant, the antique malls span approximately 10,000 square feet, offering a diverse collection of antiques and collectibles from around the world. Visitors can find furniture, pottery, china, jewelry, and art. The warm and inviting ambiance makes it a destination for antique lovers. The building itself is a sight to behold, with beaded pine walls, sparkling chandeliers, and stained glass windows.
