    The Montgomery Zoo is located off the Northern Boulevard on Coliseum Parkway. From Interstate 65, take Exit 173 and follow Northern Boulevard for four miles. Exit on Coliseum Parkway, and turn right at the Montgomery Zoo sign. From Interstate 85, take Exit 6 and follow Eastern/Northern Boulevard for eight miles. Exit left onto Coliseum Parkway and turn right at the Montgomery Zoo sign. Parking is available in the Mann Museum parking lot. Overflow parking is located by the ball fields. Expect to pay for parking using Premium Parking.

    The Montgomery Zoo can be reached via public transportation. The nearest bus station is Montclair & Vandiver, which is a 7-minute walk to the zoo. Use the Moovit app for bus schedules, routes, and fare information. The M: Micro Transit, Montgomery's on-demand ride-sharing service, serves the Montgomery Regional Airport, Downtown Montgomery area, Montgomery Whitewater, Maxwell AFB Visitor Center and Jackson Hospital. The Montgomery Zoo & Mann Wildlife Learning Museum offers a dynamic blend of entertainment and education for visitors of all ages. The Montgomery Zoo began as a small menagerie in Oak Park in the 1920s. In 1972, the Montgomery Zoo reopened at its current location. Today, the zoo encompasses more than 40 acres of habitat for a wide array of animals. The zoo is divided into five continental realms: Africa, Australia, Asia, North America, and South America. The African realm features an African Savanna with elephants, zebras, giraffes, and more. The Asian realm includes Bengal tigers and Indian rhinoceros. In North America, you'll find elk, cougars, and alligators. The South American realm allows you to penetrate deep into the jungles. The zoo also offers interactive experiences such as the Giraffe Encounter, a train ride, and the Zoofari Skylift. A petting zoo with pygmy goats and llamas is near the Asian realm. The Parakeet Cove is an interactive walk-through aviary. Adjacent to the zoo, the Mann Wildlife Learning Museum offers a unique opportunity to explore interactive exhibits and displays that delve into the world of wildlife and conservation. The museum displays over 275 exhibits of wildlife, various fresh and saltwater fish, reptiles, and insects that are found in North America. Guests can touch and feel the furs and antlers of some of the animals on display.
