The Shkodër History Museum, located in a traditional 19th-century house, provides a comprehensive overview of the city's history and cultural heritage. Originally established in 1947 as the "Folk Museum," it was officially founded in 1949. In 1996, the museum moved to its current location in a restored residence that once belonged to the patriot Oso Kuka.The museum's collections include artifacts from various historical periods, starting from the Neolithic era (6000 BC) up to the late Middle Ages (16th century). The exhibits encompass archaeology, ethnography, visual arts, and historical documents. Visitors can explore displays of traditional costumes, ancient tools, and intricate artworks. The museum also features an archaeology sector with a selection of objects, including the early Christian Plate of David. In the garden, you'll find a Roman tomb and a Venetian stone well.The building itself is a historical artifact, representing a typical Shkodran house.
