Discover more about Ofu Beach

Ofu Beach, situated on the south shore of Ofu Island in American Samoa's Manu'a District, is a quintessential tropical paradise. As part of the National Park of American Samoa, this 2.5-mile stretch of palm-fringed, white sand beach is renowned for its untouched beauty and serene atmosphere. The clear turquoise waters are home to one of the healthiest coral reef systems in the South Pacific, teeming with colorful fish and diverse marine life, making it a snorkeler's dream. The beach is framed by majestic volcanic cliffs and lush greenery, creating a strikingly beautiful and tranquil setting. The island's remote location contributes to its unspoiled charm, offering visitors a chance to connect with nature in its purest form. With fewer than a few hundred tourists visiting each year, it's possible to have the entire beach to yourself. Archaeological discoveries on Ofu, including Lapita culture ceramics, suggest continuous human habitation for around 3,000 years. Today, the island retains a timeless South Pacific feel, with a small population and minimal development. Visitors can also explore Mount Tumutumu for panoramic views or cross the one-lane bridge to the smaller Olosega Island. Be aware of potential hazards such as falling coconuts, sharp coral, and strong currents.
