Walking
From Ofu Airport, walk along the paved road towards the western edge of Ofu Beach. The Vaoto Lodge is conveniently located near the airstrip. The walk to the beach is approximately 10 minutes, passing the National Park of American Samoa boundary sign. There are no sidewalks. Watch out for the occasional vehicle.
Local Transportation
From Fitiuta Airport on Ta'u Island, arrange for a local boat (alia) to transport you to Ofu Island. Since there is no scheduled commercial inter-island service, it's best to coordinate with your accommodation or a local contact to secure a ride. The boat ride can take around an hour, depending on ocean conditions. The rate is in the $100-$200 per person range, and payments are cash only.
