To reach Château de Montségur by car, navigate towards the village of Montségur (09300), located in the Ariège department. From Lavelanet, follow the D9 road. As you approach Montségur, follow signs for 'Château de Montségur'. A free parking area is available at the base of the 'pog' (the mountain on which the castle is built), just a kilometer from Montségur village. From the parking area, it's a 30-minute walk up a steep path to the castle entrance. Parking is free.

To reach Château de Montségur via public transport, take the liO bus route 450 from Pamiers to the 'Château' stop in Montségur. The bus journey takes approximately 1.5 hours from Pamiers. From Mirepoix, the same bus line takes approximately 59 minutes. From the bus stop, follow the signs to the castle, which involves a 30-minute uphill walk from the parking area to the castle entrance. A single bus ticket costs around €2.
