    To reach Château de Montségur, drive to the village of Montségur via the D9. From Montségur, follow the signs to the parking area at the foot of the pog (the rocky hill upon which the castle sits). Parking is free. From the parking area, it's a steep, 30-minute walk up a mountain path to reach the castle.

  • Public Transport

    While public transportation to Montségur is limited, you can take a bus from Carcassonne to Mirepoix, then transfer to another bus to Montségur. From the bus stop in Montségur, it's a walk to the parking area at the foot of the castle, followed by a 30-minute hike to the castle itself. Bus fare from Carcassonne to Montségur is approximately €4-€5.
