Getting There

• Car

  From Cerro Fitz Roy, head south on Route 40 (Ruta Nacional 40). Continue for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the junction with Ruta Provincial 23. Take a left onto Ruta Provincial 23. After about 5 kilometers, you will see a sign for Mirador Río de las Vueltas. Turn onto the gravel road leading to the viewpoint. The parking area is approximately 1 kilometer down this road. Note that the gravel road can be bumpy, so drive carefully.

• Public Transport

  If you are using public transportation, check with local tour companies or bus services that operate between El Chaltén and nearby attractions. You will need to take a bus heading towards El Chaltén from your location in Cerro Fitz Roy. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Mirador Río de las Vueltas stop, which is usually marked. From the stop, it is a short walk to the viewpoint, which is well signposted. Make sure to confirm the schedule, as services may be limited.

• Hiking

  For those preferring a more adventurous route, the hike to Mirador Río de las Vueltas can be started from the town of El Chaltén. Follow the well-marked trail that leads to the viewpoint. The hike is approximately 5 kilometers one way and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Along the trail, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. Make sure to bring water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear, as conditions can change.
