    The Sendero Laguna de los Tres trailhead is easily accessible from El Chaltén. Start at the north end of Avenida San Martín, the town's main street, where it intersects with Albert Konrad Street. Follow the well-marked Sendero al Fitz Roy. The hike to Laguna de los Tres is free, but as of October 2024, a park entrance fee of ARS 45,000 (approximately $38 USD) is required for non-Argentinian residents. This can be purchased online or at the trailhead via cash or credit card.

  • Taxi/Transfer

    For an alternative starting point and to potentially shorten the hike, arrange a taxi or transfer to Hostería El Pilar, about 17 kilometers north of El Chaltén on Route 41. This allows you to start the trail from the Río Eléctrico bridge, also called the Hosteria El Pilar trail, and includes the Piedras Blancas Glacier viewpoint. In March 2025, a transfer cost around ARS 45,000 (approximately $42 USD). From there, follow signs to Laguna de Los Tres.
