Getting There

    From Flagstaff, head west on Historic Route 66. Turn south onto Woody Mountain Road/Forest Road 231 and continue for approximately 7.4 miles to the first (north) trailhead or 8.5 miles to the second (south) trailhead. Note that Woody Mountain Road is not maintained in the winter and can be muddy in the spring and fall. Check the Coconino National Forest website for road closures. Parking is available at the trailheads. There are no entrance or parking fees.

    From Flagstaff, cycle west on Route 66 then south on Woody Mountain Road/Forest Road 231. The ride is approximately 10 miles and can take 1-2 hours. Be prepared for unpaved sections of road. There are no entrance or parking fees.
