    Start your journey from Grand Canyon National Park. If you are near the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, head south on AZ-64 S for about 27 miles until you reach the intersection with I-40. Take the ramp onto I-40 E toward Holbrook. Continue on I-40 E for approximately 81 miles. Take exit 311 toward Petrified Forest National Park. Follow the signs to the park entrance. The total drive should take around 2 hours and 15 minutes depending on traffic. Be sure to have your park pass ready, as there may be an entrance fee.

    From Grand Canyon National Park, you can take a shuttle or bus to Williams, AZ. Once in Williams, you will need to catch a Greyhound bus to Holbrook, AZ. The Greyhound service runs several times a day. From Holbrook, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Petrified Forest National Park, which is about 20 miles from Holbrook. Please check the schedules in advance as public transportation may have limited availability.
