Discover more about Prescott Center for the Arts

Prescott Center for the Arts, currently named The Hazeltine, has a long and rich history in Prescott. Originally the Sacred Heart Church, built in 1895, the building was transformed into a community theater in 1967 by Norma Hazeltine, giving locals a place to express themselves creatively. For over half a century, the center has provided a stage for musicals, dramas, comedies, and various programs, including Reader's Theatre, Teen Summer Stock, and Family Theatre. It also features an art gallery that presents juried exhibits and holiday shows, offering free access to art for the community. The center has been a hub for artistic expression and community engagement. After facing financial difficulties, the Prescott Center for the Arts closed in September 2024. However, a group of local arts leaders and community members united to preserve community theater in Prescott, renaming the facilities The Hazeltine. 4th Wall Productions, a nonprofit organization, is planning a full season of quarterly productions for 2025, ensuring that the historic facilities continue to serve as a theater campus. The Hazeltine also aims to bring back the summer stock and family theater programs that the Prescott Center for the Arts was known for.
