The Craft Village is the heart of the park, where over 20 artisans demonstrate and sell handcrafted items. Visitors can watch broom making, blacksmithing, pottery making, and other traditional crafts. The Heritage Herb Garden showcases old-time plants, medicinal herbs, and native plants, serving as a living classroom for workshops and programs. Music is integral to the Ozark Folk Center, with live performances throughout the day and evening concerts at the 1,000-seat Ozark Highlands Theater. The park also produces the nationally distributed radio show, Ozark Highlands Radio. The park's history began with the Ozark Foothills Crafts Guild in 1962, leading to the first Arkansas Folk Festival in 1963. The success of the festival led to the establishment of the Ozark Folk Center, which opened as a state park in 1973.
